Can I Customise My SMS Appointment Reminders?

At this time, SMS appointment reminders sent by HUSL cannot be customised.

This is because SMS messages have a character limit of 160 characters. Going over this limit can result in multiple SMS messages being sent, which increases the cost charged by phone providers.

To help keep SMS reminder costs as low as possible for stylists (currently from just $0.09 per SMS), HUSL uses a standardised reminder message that includes the most important appointment information.

What Information Is Included?

Your appointment reminder SMS automatically includes:

• Client's name
• Appointment date and time
• Your business name
• A phone number to call if the client needs to reschedule or cancel

This ensures reminders remain clear, professional, and cost-effective.

The team has been working on a feature that will allow you to customise your SMS messages in a future app update.

To make sure you don't miss out when it's released, we recommend keeping automatic app updates turned on.

Want to Share Additional Information?

If you'd like clients to see extra details such as:

• Parking instructions
• Cancellation policies
• Arrival information
• Salon etiquette
• Other important booking information

You can add this to your Service Policy.

How to Update Your Service Policy

1. Tap your Profile Image (top left).
2. Tap Booking Setup.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
4. Enter your information into the Service Policy section.

Your Service Policy is displayed on the first page of your online booking website, and clients must accept it before proceeding with their booking request.

You can include any information you'd like your clients to see before booking.

💡 Tip: You can also send additional personalised information to clients outside of HUSL using your own email or SMS communication if required.
