Why Processing Times May Need Updating After Your Data Import
If your previous booking system didn’t use processing times, you may need to adjust your services in HUSL after your import is complete.
Important Note About Processing Times
When switching (from eg; Fresha) to HUSL, your services and bookings are imported exactly as they existed in your previous system.
If processing times were not set up in your services in your previous booking system, they will not automatically exist in HUSL after the import.
Once your data import is complete, you may need to update your services to include processing time.
Why Processing Time Matters in HUSL
HUSL allows you to separate active working time from processing time (for example: colour processing).
This means:
-
Clients can book appointments during processing time
-
You can increase booking availability
-
Your calendar becomes more efficient
How to Add Processing Time to Your Imported Services
After your data import is complete:
-
Go to Manage My Services in HUSL
-
Open one of your imported services
-
Edit the service structure
-
Add processing time where needed
-
Ensure the total duration remains the same as it was previously
Example:
Before (in previous system)
-
Full Head Foils – 2 hours
After updating in HUSL
-
Application time: 60 minutes
-
Processing time: 45 minutes
-
Finish time: 15 minutes
-
Total duration remains 2 hours
What Happens to Your Existing Bookings?
Good news — nothing changes for existing bookings.
-
Imported appointments remain exactly as they were.
-
Only new bookings moving forward will follow the updated service setup that includes processing times.
💡 Helpful Tip
When updating services, think about where processing naturally occurs in the service (for example: colour developing or treatments sitting in the hair).
Adding processing time allows clients to book during that window, helping you maximise your chair time.
